ACCRA, GHANA – A recent meeting between Arlande Aroukoun and investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has shed light on the foundation’s vision for youth engagement and upcoming events, including the African Youth Parliament.

The discussion, which took place at the WAJSIC headquarters, centered on actionable programs, inclusivity, and concrete outcomes, with a focus on measurable impact rather than symbolic actions.

Arlande emphasized the importance of youth participation, encouraging young people to take initiative without waiting for permission and to propose solutions to the problems they identify.

The African Youth Parliament, slated to be held in Ghana, aims to promote intra-African engagement and reduce travel barriers. The event is expected to draw 20 local and 20 international youth participants.

The foundation is also running school-based programs in English and French, targeting Gen Z in East Africa and Ghana. The programs focus on active democratic participation, understanding of the law, and civic responsibility.

Anas Aremeyaw Anas recommended prioritizing resource-conscious planning, formalizing partnerships with institutions, and fostering youth-led initiatives with clear expectations for actionable results.

The meeting highlighted Arlande’s commitment to youth engagement, actionable outcomes, and strategic action. Next steps include finalizing venues and preparing youth participants for the African Youth Parliament event.
