The Platform to Protect Whistleblowers in Africa (PPLAAF) in collaboration with the Whistleblowers,Activist and Journalist Safety International Center (WAJSIC) has concluded a capacity-building workshop for journalists and civil society organizations in Accra, Ghana.

The Whistleblowers, Activists and Journalists Safety International Center (WAJSIC) is inviting journalists, whistleblowers and human rights defenders in distress from every part of Ghana, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Liberia and Sierra Leone to submit their applications for temporary support in secured shelters.

In West Africa, journalists risk arrest, threats, and even death to expose the truth. But they can’t — and shouldn’t — fight alone. Civil society has a vital role to play in defending press freedom and ensuring truth-tellers survive and thrive.

From safe houses to legal defense and trauma recovery, WAJSIC provides a holistic protection system for whistleblowers, journalists, and human rights defenders whose lives are endangered by the truths they reveal
