What We Do

real action

Defend, Support, and Empower Truth-Tellers

At WAJSIC, our mission is to stand beside whistleblowers, journalists, activists, and human rights defenders at risk. Through secure shelter, legal aid, mental health support, and capacity building, we help ensure that the fight for accountability and justice never stops — even in the face of danger.

Secure Shelter & Safe Houses

Confidential safe houses offer immediate protection for journalists, whistleblowers, and activists under threat. A refuge to rest, regroup, and plan next steps safely.

Advocacy & Awareness

We amplify resident voices and push for stronger protections. Because silence empowers injustice, while awareness challenges it.

Legal Aid & Protection

Legal support helps residents fight intimidation, wrongful charges, and lawsuits designed to silence them. We make justice accessible, not selective.

Training & Capacity Building

We help residents work more safely and effectively through security workshops and skills training, ensuring their mission continues.

Psychosocial & Medical

Exposing injustice carries hidden emotional wounds. We offer trauma-informed counselling and medical care to help residents heal and stay strong.

Confidential Comm. Channels

Residents receive tools and training to share sensitive information securely. Protection begins with private, trusted channels.

Where We Stand and What Drives Us

At WAJSIC, our work is shaped by urgent priorities, real-world obstacles, and the measurable difference we make. These three pillars — what we’re focusing on, what we’re overcoming, and what we’ve achieved — define our mission to protect those who speak truth to power across Africa.

“WAJSIC gave me a second chance at life.” When I arrived, I was broken and afraid. They didn’t just shelter me—they believed in me. Today, I’m back to doing the work I love: exposing corruption.

“Their support saved my life.” I came to WAJSIC with only the clothes on my back. They provided legal help, medical care, and above all, dignity. I survived because of them.
